How to fix a surfboard

It's hard to avoid bumping, sunken, scratched and hitting the rocks when the surfboard is used for a long time. For example, in the following cases, it's even broken. I'm very distressed. Does this mean that the board will break? In fact, it's not. If you can learn some skills to repair the surfboard, your board will soon be the same as the new one, so every ronin can learn the following skills!

1. Identify holes. If froth is exposed or the foam looks discolouration, it will soon absorb moisture and need to be repaired immediately with fiberglass cloth. If only scratches on the surface can be repaired with resin alone.

2. Prepare materials. If EPS surfboard is used to buy epoxy resin, polyester resin will melt epoxy foam, so if you have holes in your EPS board, if you want to repair, remember to use epoxy resin only!

3. Clear. Remove the wax from the surrounding area of the hole, cut the damaged FRP fragments and let the water evaporate. If forced to repair the wet surfboards, the water will be trapped in the foam and the core will easily be burned away.

4. Adhesive tape. Wrap the area around the hole with adhesive tape to avoid resin on the surrounding area.

5. Mixed resin. Put 30g epoxy resin into a cup, add 10 drops of catalyst and stir evenly. The specific amount depends on the area of repairing the loophole.

6. Cut cloth. Cut the fiberglass cloth into areas that can cover the holes.

7. Apply. Apply some resin with a brush, stick the glass fiber cloth on the wet resin, and brush the resin again with a brush. But don't use too much resin, because it will cause dripping. You can put the board in the sun and let it solidify.

8. Sanding. Once the resin and glass fiber harden, you can start sanding.

9. Reapply. If you are afraid of insufficient hardness or depression again, you can lay a layer of fiberglass cloth on the.

10. Regrind. When the board is completely cured, take some wet / dry sandpaper and grind it repeatedly, and then clean it, the board will become shiny and bright.

11. Finished. Now your board has almost become a new board.
